Banaskantha District Kelavani Mandal has been making serious efferts to cater to the needs of higher education in this backward district of Banaskantha. The Mandal started Arts college in the year 1964. Thereafter in 1965, Science college started and in the year 1979 Commerce college started working.

The Mandal felt that there was no educational institution imparting legal education in the district of Banaskantha. Due to govt’s uncertainity of grant in aid policy to law colleges, the whole financial burden was to be borne by the Mandal. Inspite of this challange, the Mandal started law college in the year 1998. The Banaskantha Mercantile co.op.Bank. donated Rs.10 Lakhs initially. After going through necessary formalities of the Bar Council of India and Hemchandracharya North Gujarat Univercity, the third LL.B degree class also started in the year 2001.

This is a self finance college and the Mandal is facing severe financial difficulties in the adminitration of the law college. Apart from this, five years LL.B. integrated course and post graduate center in law, are proposed to be started from the acedemic year 2008.

To establish and maintain a center for motivating, research, training, excellence, awareness and innovation in legal education with a view to developing and sustaining professionals in legal field and inculcating the spirit of the Constitution, Secularism, Scientific temper and Rule of Law amongst them.

To say in brief, we stand for social Justice, equality, and scientific temper.

To enlighten the society of the importance and utility of a true legal professional and to attract talent in legal field and to give them opportunity to reach greater heights in Legal profession, judiciary and other avenues of administration either as members of the Bench or Bar or of the executive.
